[EN] Of Franco-German heritage, Corinne Chatel (Mezzo-Soprano) began her career as a solo singer at the age of 17 in J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio. After classical training, she pursued Jazz studies in Munich, where she received numerous accolades and took vocal lessons with Sheila Jordan. Today, she resides in Strasbourg. Starting this season, Corinne Chatel is an artist in residence for three years at the "Dominicains de Haute Alsace" in Guebwiller, where she collaborated, among other things, with the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra as a narrator in "Peter and the Wolf" and "The Little Tailor." In 2005, CC was featured multiple times with the Nancy Symphonic and Lyric Orchestra under the direction of Marc Schaefer in a program of American Jazz Standards. Currently, she sings in various professional ensembles, including her "Corinne Chatel Quintet" (Jazz, Song, and improvised music), which received the Jazz Prize from Bayerischer Rundfunk and Süddeutsche Zeitung, and "Paris-Berlin," a Franco-German Cabaret creation from the 1920s.
Numerous concerts and Jazz festivals in Germany and France, radio broadcasts (Bayerische Rundfunk), and television appearances (ARD), as well as recordings ("Ma Vie en Rose" GLM Verlag 2000, "Barabli Hit" 2003, "Hymne à l'Amour" Editions M. Raab 2004, "Grace" with the Wangen Big Band 2004, and Paris-Berlin Cabaret Songs 06), have showcased her talent as a polyglot singer (French, English, German, Brazilian, Italian, and Alsatian), her flexibility and ease in changing musical genres (Classical, Jazz, Song, Cabaret Songs, Gospel), and her expertise in vocal improvisation (Lautmalerei). In 2004 and 2005, Corinne Chatel worked for ARTE as a speaker, and the chamber ensemble of the Baden-Baden Symphony Orchestra engaged her for the recitation of Pierre Louys' poems in "Songs for Bilitis." Corinne Chatel teaches her own method of "Circlesongs" (improvised singing for vocal groups) in Munich, Stuttgart, and Freiburg. She is also a vocal teacher at the Offenburg School of Music and a choir conductor for children. The press describes her vocal range as a "rainbow" spanning over three octaves and compares her to both Edith Piaf for her expressiveness and Bobby McFerrin for the richness of her vocal sounds.

[FR] De culture franco-allemande, Corinne Chatel (Mezzo-Soprano) a débuté comme chanteuse soliste à l'âge de 17 ans dans l' Oratorio de Noël de J.S. Bach. Après une formation classique, elle poursuit des études de Jazz à Munich où elle obtient de nombreuses distinctions et prend des cours de chant avec Sheila Jordan. Aujourd’hui elle vit à Strasbourg. Depuis cette saison Corinne Chatel est artiste en résidence pendant trois ans aux "Dominicains de Haute Alsace" à Guebwiller où elle a collaboré entre autre avec l'Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse en tant que narratrice dans "Pierre et le loup" et "Le Petit tailleur". En 2005 CC était accompagné plusieurs fois par l'Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy sous la direction de Marc Schaefer dans un programme de Standards de Jazz Américains. Actuellement elle chante dans divers ensembles professionnels dont son «Corinne Chatel Quintette », (Jazz, Chanson et musique improvisée) qui a obtenu le Prix de Jazz du Bayerischer Rundfunk et de la Süddeutsche Zeitung et "Paris-Berlin" une Création de Cabaret franco-allemand des années 20.

Raab 2004, « Grace » avec le Bigband Wangen 2004 et Paris-Berlin Cabaretsongs 06) ont révélé son talent de chanteuse polyglotte (français, anglais, allemand, brésilien, italien et alsacien), sa souplesse et son aisance à changer de genre musical (Classique, Jazz, Chanson, Cabaretsongs, Gospel) et son savoir-faire en matière d’improvisation vocale (Lautmalerei). et 2005 Corinne Chatel travaille pour ARTE en tant que speaker et l'ensemble de chambre de l'orchestre Symphonique de Baden-Baden l'engage pour la récitation des poèmes de Pierre Louys dans "Chansons pour Bilitis". Corinne Chatel enseigne sa propre méthode de "Circlesongs" (Chant improvisé pour des groupes de chant) à Munich, Stuttgart et Fribourg.
