[EN] The saxophonist and flutist Frank Lowe, heavily influenced by the music of Ornette Coleman and John Coltrane, gained early recognition by playing with the groups of Sun Ra and Alice Coltrane.

Discovered by contemporary jazz enthusiasts through his co-leading recording with drummer Rashied Ali, Frank Lowe went on to perform regularly with all the musicians emerging from the free jazz of the 1970s, such as Don Cherry, Sunny Murray, the Black Artists group from Saint Louis, Milford Graves, Phillip Wilson, as well as leading his own small ensembles.

Drawing inspiration from the great tradition of jazz, this representative of the Great Black Music of the future recorded this album for the Marge label in Rouen, shortly after performing in 1976 at the second Independent Jazz Festival in Massy.

Découvert par les amateurs de jazz contemporain grâce à son enregistrement en coleader avec le batteur Rashied Ali, Frank Lowe va par la suite se produire régulièrement avec tous les musiciens issus du free jazz des années 1970, tels que Don Cherry, Sunny Murray, le Black Artists group de Saint Louis, Milford Graves, Phillip Wilson, ainsi qu'à la tête de ses petites formations.
S'inspirant de la grande tradition du jazz, ce représentant de la Great Black Music du futur a enregistré en public à Rouen cet album pour le label Marge, alors qu'il venait de se produire en 1976 au second Festival Indépendant de Jazz de Massy.
