[EN] Gérard Terronès also welcomes productions that he hasn't initiated himself. And he rarely goes wrong, as evidenced by this Trio Fatal, where French trombonist François Lemonnier joins forces with German saxophonist-flutist Biggi Vinkeloe, who is based in Sweden, the home country of the powerful drummer Peeter Uuskyla (known for his work with Peter Brötzmann). Three excellent musicians who offer an open, highly contemporary music that remains rooted in jazz (as mentioned above), particularly in their phrasing. Recorded in the studio, the album is perfectly composed and structured around themes of connection, exchange, and renewal. The quality of the sonic combinations, especially those created by the flute and trombone, is particularly appreciated – original and successful. A group and an album that are definitely worth discovering.

Et il ne se trompe guère, témoin ce Trio Fatal où le tromboniste français François Lemonnier rencontre la saxophoniste-flûtiste allemande Biggi Vinkeloe, installée en Suède, le pays du puissant batteur Peeter Uuskyla (il joue avec Peter Brötzmann).Trois excellents musiciens qui proposent une musique ouverte, très contemporaine mais qui ne se coupe pas du jazz (voir plus haut), notamment dans les phrasés. Enregistré en studio, le disque est parfaitement composé et articulé autour de thèmes de liaison, d’envoi, de relance. On appréciera particulièrement la qualité des alliages sonores, notamment ceux que forment la flûte et le trombone, originaux et réussis. Un groupe et un disque à découvrir absolument.
