about

[EN] In an era characterized by the sonic experiments of the 1970s, Fille Qui Mousse's enigmatic album plunges us into a wholly mysterious musical universe. It's a complex and fragmented auditory experience that challenges any attempt at comprehension or concentration. Right from the opening notes of the album, titled "Quatrième Épisode," one is immediately struck by the diverse experimental methods employed by the band. The tracks unfold, each bringing its share of surprises. On one hand, there are uptempo rhythms and play with light and shadow in "Cantate Disparate." On the other, there's an absolutely dry piano improvisation in "Transcription Interrompue," or a dark percussive rhythm emerging from the depths in "Fraîcheur Et Amalgame." However, the standout moment of this opus arrives with "Esplanade," a track that captivates with its feminine sensuality, tragic dog howls, and strange synthesizer effects. Over five minutes of total immersion into an infernal soundscape. It's no wonder that this track could have prompted the purchase of the album. The quest for eccentric humanity continues with "Quatrième Épisode," a hypnotic call that progresses gently. However, the following track, "Transplantation," remains enigmatic with its electric laughter and deathly sounds, raising questions about its meaning. The second half of the album recalls the sonic experience of Semool's "Essais," especially with the eighth track, "Antinomique," built around sharp violin soloing and electric percussion. Finally, the last track, "L'eau Était Vitale," seems to mark a return to some semblance of normality, echoing the first track while delving into the depths of the abyss. From the very first notes, it becomes evident that this album belongs to the Krautrock genre. It is considered a true masterpiece of this musical movement. Fille qui Mousse has managed to create a unique sonic experience, defying musical conventions and transporting the listener to a musical universe as enigmatic as it is fascinating. It's a work that undeniably deserves its place in the pantheon of Krautrock.
